This unit is related to the information systems in managing the creation, storage, recall, and dissemination of reports. Digital accounting involves collecting information as evidence for accountability, transparency, compliance with regulations and the use of information for decision making. This unit will explore the issues and challenges with managing and using several technologies such as cloud computing, Enterprise Resource Planning, robotic process automation, data analytics and artificial intelligence.

Learning outcomes
- examine the role and design of digital accounting systems in analysing and providing decision support to managers
- assess and recommend improvements to enhance the efficiency of accounting information systems' processes and controls in the context business environment
- demonstrate effective communication skills through individual and/or group activities related to digital accounting systems, and convey a clear and comprehensive understanding of ACM5260 topics in an individual summative assessment task
- demonstrate effective collaboration in team settings to enhance performance during group activities related to ACM5260 Digital Accounting Systems.
Workload
Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities. You are expected to complete all pre-class activities prior to your scheduled class, and post-class activities should be completed after your scheduled class. Learning activities may include a combination of teacher directed, peer directed and online engagement activities.
