Learning outcomes
- Identify,locate and analyse secondary research data, tourism trends, and research directions from both an Australian and global perspective;
- Discuss the role played by research in tourism strategic planning;
- Identify and apply the basic principles of research design for both qualitative and quantitative studies, including questionnaire design, data entry, and analysis;
- Communicate ideas effectively orally and in writing.;
- Utilise software applications in tourism industry research.
Workload
Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher directed learning, peer directed learning and online engagement.
