This unit expands on advanced concepts and skills relevant to architecture design. The unit elaborates on architectural design as a process of investigation, critical observation, and experiment. Studies in the unit will focus on the iterative development of design as a visual language and process of cultural production with an emphasis on social and environmental sustainability.

Learning outcomes
- Identify relevant site, cultural, intellectual and contextual parameters as part of design research;
- Apply knowledge from environmental science and building technology in the design development and building performance of a project;
- Synthesise and visually communicate design research with sensitivity to diverse contexts in the exploration of project design options and outcomes;
- Recognise the impact of diverse forms of stakeholder input and collaboration in design developments;
- Promote health and wellbeing outcomes for Country through an understanding of Indigenous Peoples aspirations of care through appropriate siting, spatial configuration and material;
- Develop and communicate architectural responses to design briefs and explorations.
Workload
