Indonesia has the largest digital economy in Southeast Asia, and digital transformation is central to the government’s National Development Plan. In this unit, you will learn emerging from the digital space, where policies and regulations must respond rapidly to the disruptive effects of new technologies and platforms. The unit will address the challenges of designing policies that work at scale and that balance the needs of stakeholders across industry and society. You will examine major public policy debates, exploring topics such as AI safety, data privacy, social media misinformation, and digital geopolitics.

- Identify and analyse the key public policy challenges arising from new digital technologies;
- Critically evaluate the unique problems of digital government, from cybersecurity to the rural-urban digital divide;
- Research and analyse current and prospective public policy problems emerging under conditions of complexity and uncertainty;
- Communicate and lead digital policy solutions for a professional audience.
