In every working environment the ability for employees to value-add and innovate is greatly valued by employers. In this intensive unit you will develop an understanding of innovation as a workplace attribute and social process. Through an online examination of both theoretical frameworks of innovation and case studies which apply different forms of innovation, you will have the opportunity to develop your own innovative responses to issues across range of workplaces.

Learning outcomes
- identify and analyse the core theoretical concepts of innovation;
- describe the characteristics of innovation practices;
- critically reflect on innovation in different contexts;
- develop and communicate ideas in a variety of formats.
Workload
Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. A unit requires on average three/four hours of scheduled activities per week. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher directed learning, peer directed learning and online engagement.
