Learning outcomes
- discuss European-language contemporary cinema and its role in cinematic history;
- conduct in-depth study of either French, German, Italian or Spanish and Latin American cinema;
- apply relevant cinema and cultural studies concepts to the study of European cinema;
- formulate, structure and write a scholarly analysis of European film and documentaries;
- collaborate on a project to promote European cinema.
Workload
Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. A unit requires on average three/four hours of scheduled activities per week. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher directed learning, peer directed learning and online engagement.
