Overview

In this unit you will explore some philosophical questions about the nature of mind, in particular the question of whether consciousness is irreducibly non-physical. You will look at all of the major theories of the mind/body relationship, and also examine the nature of various kinds of mental phenomena.

  3. critique and evaluate theories on the metaphysics of Mind;
  4. communicate critical arguments relevant to philosophy of mind in academic writing, supported by appropriate scholarly sources.
