Overview

In this unit you will rethink the value and purpose of ‘acting’ in a general sense. You will consider and practise how you ‘act’ in all areas of your life and you will learn strategies for performing on (i) theatrical stages; (ii) professional stages; (iii) social stages, and (iv) the global stage. In module 1 you will practice traditional theatrical approaches to vocal work, crafting a persona, and scene study. In module 2 you will apply your learning to crafting and telling stories in different social environments. In module 3 you will consider the value of these skills in professional interviews and workplace presentations. In module 4 you will prepare to act as a global citizen with a self-aware and flexible understanding of disparate cultural performance styles.
