Overview

In this unit, you will consolidate advanced music performance skills through the preparation and presentation of performance materials towards a final performance project. Engagement with diverse repertoire and awareness of the social and cultural context of your chosen performance works is a focus, building on music studied in ATS3136

Learning outcomes

  1. Demonstrate consolidation of advanced instrumental/vocal technique, including control of rhythm, articulation, accuracy, timbre, dynamics and intonation (where applicable);
  2. Prepare and present a performance project at an emerging professional level, demonstrating engagement with diverse repertoire and awareness of social and cultural context of the works selected;
  3. Demonstrate advanced performance practices, musicianship and/or creativity, including appropriate artistic expression, improvisation and/or technology, beyond that achieved in ATS3136;
  4. Critically synthesise practice-led research skills relevant to your performance practice.

Workload

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher directed learning, peer directed learning and online engagement.
