Overview

This unit integrates the four compulsory Indonesian curriculum units; Religion (Agama), Indonesian Language (Bahasa Indonesia), Pancasila, and Civic Education (Kewarganegaraan) through a project-based approach. You will participate in seminars and field activities that connect theoretical learning with practical, community-focused applications. The unit emphasises critical engagement with social and cultural issues, encouraging the development of skills in communication, collaboration, and ethical reflection. Project work is assessed through a final presentation, demonstrating your understanding of the unit outcomes. Completion of this unit is a requirement for graduation.

Learning outcomes

  1. demonstrate an understanding of key concepts from Religion, Indonesian Language, Pancasila, and Civic Education in relation to Indonesian society and governance.
  2. apply theoretical knowledge to socially-oriented projects that address real-world cultural and civic issues
  3. communicate effectively in Bahasa Indonesia across academic and community contexts
  4. engage ethically and respectfully with diverse communities through fieldwork and collaborative activities
  5. reflect critically on personal and collective responsibilities as citizens within the framework of Pancasila and Indonesian civic values
  6. integrate interdisciplinary perspectives to develop and present a project that responds to social challenges in Indonesia.

Workload

The workload requirements (including contact hours) for each of the four compulsory units is 2 hours per week. This unit must be undertaken in parallel with your other units and cannot be completed outside Indonesia.
