Learning outcomes
- analyse the impact of emerging financial technologies on traditional financial systems and business models
- evaluate the role of big data, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and decentralisation in driving innovation within the financial sector
- develop a thorough understanding of fintech solutions in payments, lending, wealth management, insurance, and regulatory compliance
- assess and compare business models, offerings, and profitability of various fintech companies, and evaluate their competitive positioning with respect to incumbent firms.
Workload
Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities. You are expected to complete all pre-class activities prior to your scheduled class, and post-class activities should be completed after your scheduled class.
