This unit introduces you to the legal risks and responsibilities faced by business enterprises arising from regulation and compliance obligations associated with global environmental and sustainability challenges. Learning outcomes
- demonstrate understanding of the legal risks, compliance and social responsibility obligations faced by business enterprises arising from global environmental and sustainability challenges
- identify and utilise a range of common regulatory frameworks for addressing the environmental, sustainability and social responsibilities of business at international, national and local levels
- participate in individual and team-based analysis of case studies exploring the role of various government and non-government actors facing environmental and sustainability challenges.
Workload
Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities. You are expected to complete all pre-class activities prior to your scheduled class, and post-class activities should be completed after your scheduled class. Learning activities may include a combination of teacher directed, peer directed and online engagement activities.
