Overview

This unit explores theories, perspectives and issues related to understanding how partnerships in early childhood settings are instrumental in developing inclusive communities that provide equitable opportunities for families and children. You will identify key stakeholders across education settings and communities. You will develop knowledge in forming and sustaining collaborative and collegial partnerships incorporating an ethical perspective including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives. A focus of the unit is on partnerships for developing the wellbeing of children, families, educators and communities. You will design ways to effectively communicate and strengthen partnerships with professionals and families through respectful and reciprocal relationships. You will apply legislative policy to design programs that provide innovative and supportive learning environments for young children, educators, leaders and families. This includes understanding the role of partnerships in supporting early identification of concerns and coordinated responses with families and relevant services, including for children with special needs.
