Learning outcomes

  1. Determine key considerations of strategic business contexts relevant to managing IT resources in an organisation;
  2. Analyse common business processes and the role IT can play in managing these processes;
  3. Discuss appropriate sourcing strategy for provisioning information systems;
  4. Identify the requirements for ongoing management of IT infrastructure in an organisation;
  5. Explain key considerations in strategically planning for technological innovation to meet the short and long-term business objectives of an organisation;
  6. Discuss ethical issues relevant to members of the IT profession, and to the management and use of IT in organisations.

Workload

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled online and face to face learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated reading and preparation for scheduled teaching activities.
