This unit examines the development, operation, and regulation of contemporary international financial systems and markets. The unit examines the transactions that are conducted within those financial markets and how the transactions are structured, as well as potential legal problems and how they can be overcome or managed. The unit explores the global financial regulatory regime in detail, as well as financial regulation in key financial jurisdictions in North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region. The unit also examines the law and practice regarding the financial instruments used in these markets including syndicated loans, project finance and debt capital markets transactions.

- Use technical and creative skills to generate and evaluate complex ideas and concepts relevant to international project finance and financial instruments.
