Overview

The aim of this unit is to develop and strengthen your practical skills to improve health equity for Indigenous peoples. This includes the capabilities of respect, reflection, advocacy, communication and safety and quality. This unit provides you with the opportunity to learn about one of the oldest continuing cultures in the world and create practical strategies to improve equity in healthcare. You will engage in online learning that features a diverse range of First Peoples via videos and podcast stories. You will also engage in reflection journaling and have opportunities to participate in online tutorials. Using design thinking techniques, you will additionally create a response to an Indigenous health equity challenge.
