This unit examines entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial behaviour as something that occurs both within organisational settings, as well as amongst those who start up their own business ventures. You will be challenged to think critically about the selection and application of concepts, frameworks, analytical techniques and tools, including AI, in both entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship situations. A key aim of the unit is to assist students develop self-insight, analysis, and judgement to identify and successfully implement innovative business opportunities. The unit provides you with the opportunity to demonstrate critical and creative scholarship as a responsible and effective global citizen by providing multidisciplinary solutions to current issues in commerce via a team-based approach.

Learning outcomes
- evaluate the role of entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship in driving organisational innovation within the Australian economic context
- evaluate contemporary public policy frameworks governing entrepreneurial activity in domestic and international contexts
- apply analytical frameworks, digital tools and techniques to assess entrepreneurial opportunities in business case scenarios
- recommend financially viable, ethical, and socially responsible business solutions to entrepreneurial challenges
- demonstrate knowledge or skills for crafting sustainable futures for people, organisations, communities, and/or the environment.
Workload
Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities. You are expected to complete all pre-class activities prior to your scheduled class, and post-class activities should be completed after your scheduled class. Learning activities may include a combination of teacher directed, peer directed and online engagement activities.
