This is a capstone unit in the Master of Clinical Pharmacy. The unit builds on learning from all units undertaken in the Master of Clinical Pharmacy, in particular the ability to reflect on practice, formulate questions, identify knowledge gaps, and analyse available evidence. It will require you to utilise the advancing practice competencies embedded in the National Competency Standards Framework for Pharmacists in Australia to reflect on your level of performance and identify means to further advance your practice.

You will be assessed using the Monash Competency Grading Schema for this unit. All tasks are competency hurdles and must be successfully completed in the timeframe specified in the learning management system for you to pass the unit. You have one attempt, plus an additional assessment, to demonstrate your competency in the competency hurdle assessment task. If you fail to meet the hurdle requirement, you will receive a fail grade for the unit regardless of the total marks you achieve.

Learning outcomes
- Synthesise learning from all units undertaken in the Master of Clinical Pharmacy in a professional practice portfolio.
- Generate appropriate evidence of ability to use the advancing practice competencies embedded in the National Competency Standards Framework for Pharmacists in Australia to successfully complete the full cycle of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Demonstrate attributes of a life-long learner by identifying steps required to continue advancing practice.
- Report learning and reflect on performance in ways that are appropriate for the profession.
Workload
Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled online learning activities and independent study. The unit requires on average 10-12 hours of learning activities per week, including teacher directed learning, independent study and reading time, participation in online discussions, research and preparation for assignments.
