2026 Handbook0 credit pointsLevel 6Psychology
Last checked: 23 Aug 2026 UTCOverview
This unit is designed to consolidate and extend trainee knowledge and skill by providing further competency training across a range of advanced topics. Trainees will utilise their learning from previous units, in addition to their clinical placement experiences, to broaden their competency development across key areas of clinical neuropsychology practice including, psychopharmacology, cultural responsiveness with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, teleneuropsychology, assessment of fitness for duty and decision making capacity; and providing neuropsychological interventions. Trainees will participate in weekly practical teaching sessions predominately utilising case-based learning techniques. Assessments will provide opportunities for trainees to demonstrate the above knowledge- and skill-based competencies, in addition to engaging in reflective practice activities throughout the unit. Following completion of the unit, trainees will not only have further consolidated previously developed competencies, but further broadened and extended their knowledge and skills for application within their advanced clinical placement and future practice.
