This double degree in business and media communication will give you broad business knowledge, specialised communications skills and the ability to work across a number of industries. It's also great combination if you're wanting comprehensive knowledge in both fields, as well as an edge in the competitive world of media and business. You'll develop core business skills that can be used in the media industry, and you will also establish a strategic and critical understanding of written, visual and audio communication - and how to apply these skills - in the field of business. By studying complementary subjects, you'll also build on your entrepreneurial expertise and gain practical skills to prepare you for the workplace.

Structure

In this double degree you will complete one major in the Bachelor of Business (B2000) and one specialisation in the Bachelor of Media and Communication (A2002). Some majors, minors and specialisations include the same units. Where this occurs, up to 12 credit points may be shared between: - two majors; or - a major and a minor; or - a specialisation and a major or minor.

You must complete 96 credit points, including all of the requirements in Part A, Part B and Part C, for the Bachelor of Business. Note: If you are completing the Accounting major as part of this double degree, ECX2953 is required to meet professional accreditation requirements. You can complete ECX2953 in Part A instead of ECF1100 and will not be required to complete ECF1200.

You must complete 96 credit points, including all of the requirements in Part A, Part B, and Part C, for the Bachelor of Media Communication. Note: It is recommended that you complete your Level 1 sequences first, as these provide a foundation for further study. In your first year, you must complete 24 credit points of Foundation Studies units from two specialisations. You must nominate your chosen specialisation at the end of your first year of study.
