Businesses require people with a range of different skills and knowledge to keep them running profitably. This double degree in business and accounting gives you the opportunity to do more - you can study complementary areas to give you a genuine depth of study across business disciplines, build your portfolio of skills by studying different disciplines, and tailor your degree to increase your employability. Your accounting studies will prepare you for a career as an accounting professional, while your business majors will give you additional skills to pursue expert roles in that industry, or give you the skills to work across industries.
Structure
In this double degree you may complete an additional major within the Bachelor of Business (B2000). Some majors and minors include the same units. Where this occurs, up to 12 credit points may be shared between: - two majors; or - a major and a minor. Note: Units can only count toward one minor. They cannot be shared across multiple minors. Specialist degree overlap: Some units in your specialist degree may overlap with your major. Where this occurs, up to 12 credit points from your Bachelor of Accounting may also count towards your major in the Bachelor of Business component of your double degree. Core units overlap: In a double degree, some core units may appear in both courses. Where the same core units are required in both components of the double degree, you must complete other units in their place. You may replace up to six overlapping units. These units may be chosen from: - The Faculty of Business and Economics or from across the University (provided you have met the relevant prerequisites and there are no enrolment restrictions); - a 12 or 24 credit point project, international experience or internship; - Flagship Rich Educational Experiences (FREE); - a minor in another discipline.
