This specialised program in Banking and Finance will equip you with knowledge and applied skills to manage money and investments in the dynamic landscape of the banking and finance industries. You will learn about key banking and finance concepts, including financial management, investments, risk management, international finance, and commercial and investment banking. This program will equip you with the skills to pursue diverse banking and finance career opportunities, such as corporate treasurer, securities dealer, commercial and investment banker, financial analyst, merger and acquisitions specialist, risk consultant, fund manager and portfolio manager.
Structure
In choosing your units, you must ensure that you complete no more than 60 credit points at unit Level 1 and at least 36 credit points at unit Level 3, including 24 credit points at unit Level 3 offered by the Faculty of Business and Economics. Some majors and minors include the same units. Where this occurs, up to 12 credit points may be shared between: - two majors; or - a major and a minor. Note: Units can only count toward one minor. They cannot be shared across multiple minors.
You must complete the following units (18 credit points). You must complete only one of either ACF1100 or ACF1001.
You must complete 72 credit points comprising: - 48 credit points of the following units; and - 24 credit points which includes two sets of the paired discipline units listed below. When you select the two sets, you must complete both units in that set.
You must complete the following unit
You must complete 48 credit points of elective study. Electives can be chosen from: - Units not already completed in Part B above provided you have met the relevant prerequisites; - Units offered by the Faculty of Business and Economics or units from across the University, which may be used to complete a major or minor from another course, provided you have met the relevant prerequisites and there are no enrolment restrictions. Notes: - Enrolment in Faculty of Business and Economics units at campuses other than your campus of enrolment is subject to there being spare capacity after students from that campus have enrolled. You should also be aware of travel and timetabling limitations. - If you are enrolled in a double degree course, some units required for the other degree are credited as electives towards this Banking and Finance degree.
