Semester one entry
How to apply
Apply through VTAC if you're currently studying an Australian Year 12 in Australia or overseas, International Baccalaureate (IB) in Australia or New Zealand, or NCEA in New Zealand.
If you’re located in Crimea, Cuba, Donetsk, Iran, Luhansk, North Korea, Syria or South Sudan, you’ll need to apply for a course through a registered Monash agent (or an IDP office in your region if a Monash agent isn’t available).
Courses offered and application dates
You can search for courses offered at Monash.
Non-year 12 applicants
International students can apply for a place anytime throughout the year. Teaching starts:
- Semester one: early March
- Semester two: mid-July
You can check the progress and outcome of your application by logging back into the applicant portal.
Current year 12 or IB students
Timely applications: Most Year 12 students submit their application and preferences to VTAC by late September. There are also late and very late application periods with higher fees.
When you apply through VTAC, your course code should end with the number 3. This identifies you as an international student.
If you're an International Baccalaureate student, you need to ensure you, or your school, has submitted the results release form to the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO). This is so VTAC can access your results.
For a full list of dates and fees, see VTAC dates and payments.
Change of preference: Once you apply through VTAC, you can add, remove or re-order your course preferences in your VTAC course application during the specified periods. See VTAC change of preference dates.
Entry requirements
You should ensure you meet all the entry requirements for the course and for general entry to university. Some courses have extra requirements such as a folio, personal statement, interview, etc.
