Project Sunrise

This year Monash students and staff are invited to participate in a series of free, large scale events. Project Sunrise is an opportunity to connect and celebrate in person and together at Monash University after two years of not being able to. It is an opportunity to reclaim in-person experiences and share in the rituals and rites of passage. To breathe, reimagine and look to the future.

Made up of three large-scale projects - Sunrise Studio & Exhibition, Sunrise Rushes, and The Great Big Sunrise Band & Shadow show, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

On Saturday 13th August at 7.30pm, The Great Big Sunrise Band and Shadow Show is the grand finale to Project Sunrise. Taking place at WinterFest carnival on Clayton Campus. Grab your spot on Matheson Forecourt to see the Menzies Building light up with spectacular and engaging storytelling, devised by Ian Pidd, Paris Balla and students of Monash Uni Student Theatre. With live Big Band accompaniment directed by Miranda Hill.

Better yet, there is still time to register with the Band, below. Play a part!

Sunrise Studios

30 individual, bespoke photo shoot experiences of Monash students.

Sunrise Rushes

15-minute slow motion film shoots, using a series of fun activations to shake off the cobwebs.

The Great Big Sunrise Band and Shadow Show

An unforgettable, colourful night-time parade and concert involving hundreds of students.
