There are 4 components to meeting your CPD requirements:
- Build your CPD experience hours
- Create your ePortfolio submission
- Answer the six CPD assessment questions
- Submit your ENG CPD ePortfolio collection via Moodle
Building your CPD hours early will not only prepare you for future career opportunities, but also enhance your employability. Throughout your degree, it's important to start thinking about how you can build your CPD hours. CPD is an essential part of your academic and professional growth, and the earlier you start, the easier it will be to accumulate the minimum of 420 hours of professional practice experiences outside the classroom.
We recommend that you:
- Get Involved Early: Participate in relevant workshops, seminars and extracurricular activities that align with your career goals.
- Keep Track: Start documenting your work related activities outside of your classroom, noting the time spent and how they contribute to your professional development. This includes any supporting documentation.
- Set Goals: Consider how many CPD hours to accumulate each semester to ensure you're on track to meet your CPD requirements by your final semester.
It's your responsibility to find opportunities and participate in experiences, which will help you develop your job searching and organisational skills. Monash will support you to complete your CPD by sending regular communications about opportunities and providing workshops and resources.

Learning outcomes for the CPD unit can be found in the Monash University Handbook: ENG0001 is the unit code for Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) students and ENG0003 is the unit code for Master of Professional Engineering.
There will be severe penalties for anyone caught falsifying claims on their CPD. Failure to supply accurate and honest details about the activities you have attended, the hours you spent at those activities, the skills you have developed, the experiences you were exposed to, or accurate contact details and supporting documentation for verification purposes, would put your graduation in jeopardy if you were suspended or excluded from the university. Monash University’s policy on Academic Integrity applies in each of those instances, and for all CPD submissions. Furthermore, as a future Engineer, you should be upholding the Engineers Australia Stage 1 competency of ethical conduct and personal accountability.
