Once the final assessments have been added to the timetable, you can view your assessment schedule in Allocate+, in the Student Portal and in the Monash Study app. You can check the final assessment timetable release date on the final assessment dates page.

How to view your final assessments in Allocate+

Your final assessments appear in your timetable just like class activities do. You'll find them in the weeks of the final assessment period.

Log into Allocate+.
Click the Timetable tab (from the menu along the top).
From the top right drop-down menu, select All Weeks.
Your assessments are in light blue in the final assessment period.

To see the details of an assessment:

click on the scheduled assessment in your timetable, or
view in list view.

How do I apply for special consideration?

All campuses

Special consideration covers short-term circumstances outside your control that affected an assessment. Apply through the special consideration form in your student portal, normally within two university working days of the assessment due date or scheduled sitting, and attach supporting documentation. Short extensions for coursework are handled separately by your unit's teaching team. Check the official page for the current deadline and the exact evidence required before you apply.

What is a hurdle, and what happens if I fail one?

A hurdle is an assessment requirement you have to meet to pass the unit, whatever your other marks add up to. Monash is phasing out threshold hurdles (a minimum mark on a task): no new unit may use one from 1 March 2025, and by 31 December 2026 no unit will. What remains are competency hurdles. If you complete and fail a competency hurdle you must be offered at least one additional assessment, due by the end of the teaching period; special consideration does not apply to it. If you still have not met the hurdle and your mark is 45 or more, your result is NH (Hurdle Fail) 45, and you will not be given a supplementary assessment for it. Your unit's hurdles and the number of attempts are listed in its Handbook entry and on Moodle.

Can I get a supplementary assessment?

All campuses

If you finish a unit with a mark of 45 to 49, a grade of N or NH, and your results show NS, you have already been given a supplementary assessment - there is nothing to apply for. Not every unit offers one; its Handbook entry says. It is optional and it is your last chance to pass the unit: pass it and your result becomes 50 (P), which is the most you can get; fail it or skip it and you keep your original mark. It is held on a set date within 90 days of results release, and special arrangements are the only way to move it. Retaking the unit instead can earn a higher mark for your WAM, but costs another enrolment.
