The Meeting Planner is a tool for candidates and supervisors to assist effective management of supervisory meetings. The candidate completes the template prior to the meeting with an update on progress with the PhD or Masters by Research project, then the supervisor/s and candidate discuss the points together. On the back of the page, the candidate prints an updated thesis outline or a timetable to which the supervisor/s can easily refer.
The tool has numerous benefits:
- It enables the supervisor and candidate to focus immediately on the project, its progress and any areas of concern
- It provides the candidate with professional research training as s/he learns how to manage the project
- It enables all parties to see progress and allocate tasks and roles clearly, which assists with workload management for supervisors
- It ensures that an accurate written record of supervision meetings is kept.
