How to apply for Honours for semester two 2025 - Clayton campus

Timely applications for semester two 2025 will close on Friday 13 June 2025. Late applications are open and will close on Friday 4 July 2025.

Application process

Step one: Contact the relevant Honours co-ordinator regarding a potential Honours project and supervisor.

You may be required to complete an internal school/department project preference/selection form. Refer to the table above and check with the relevant school/department for further details and relevant closing dates.

If you are applying for a research project at Monash Medical Centre with either the Hudson Institute of Medical Research (HIMR) or the School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health (SCS) then you must contact Dr Simon Chu for project approval. This is in addition to contacting the discipline Honours co-ordinator for approval.

Things to note when applying on-line:

• Honours is an undergraduate course
• Domestic students be sure to choose the 'apply online for undergraduate, post-VTAC, off-campus'
• Domestic students - can apply for full-time or part-time; International students on a student visa must apply for full-time
• Monash students do not need to lodge proof of identity or their Monash academic transcript with their online application
• You need to select your Honours discipline (called a unit set)
• If you are applying for two Honours disciplines you only need to lodge one online application but you will need to include two course preferences for the Bachelor of Science (Honours) and select a different Honours discipline (unit set) for each course preference.
• External students need to upload a certified copy of their official academic record, including proof of course completion and/or a statement that they have qualified for a pass degree, as soon as this is available. Evidence of citizenship, passport or birth certificate, must also be uploaded.

• If it is your first time applying make sure to choose 'All other courses (Australia, Malaysia, or South Africa): All students applying for any other course including undergraduate degrees not listed above Register and apply here'

4 year science courses with an Honours component

If you are completing stage 3 of your course by the end of semester two 2024, you will receive an email from the Faculty inviting you to complete an ‘Expression of interest’ for Honours. (You need to have completed step one).

Semester 1 start date only:
