After an extensive review process, the new statute and set of regulations under which Monash University operates came into effect on 28 May 2014.
The new statute and regulations set out clearly the roles and responsibilities of the University Council, senior officers such as the Vice Chancellor, the Provost and deans, and the Academic Board.
The Vice Chancellor and deans have made new delegations that allow for decision-making at appropriate levels within the University and support senior officers and committees in focusing on strategic issues, standard-setting, monitoring and oversight on the broad range of University activities.
