1. Do I have to apply for the Monash High Achiever Award (for new students), the UEC Outstanding Achiever Award, the UEC Leadership Award, or the Female in Engineering Scholarship?
No separate application is required. An application for admission to the university constitutes an application for the scholarship. A scholarship will be offered to you if you meet the scholarship eligibility criteria. The scholarship offer letter will be issued to you along with the course offer letter..
2. Do I need to enrol for a course before I can apply for the Monash Equity Scholarship / Monash Pharmacy Equity Scholarship?
No, you do not need to be an enrolled student before applying for the Monash Equity Scholarship.
3. What documents do I need to submit along with my application for the Monash Equity Scholarship / Monash Pharmacy Equity Scholarship?
You need to submit the following documents along with the completed application form :-
- SPM or equivalent results
- Pre-University results / Degree Certificate and Transcript (as applicable)
- IC
- Parents / Guardian’s most recent income statement
- All other relevant academic / co-curriculum certificates
- Parents / Guardians’ salary slips (latest)
- Parents’ / Guardians’ last drawn salary slip (if retired / currently not employed)
- Parents’ / Guardians’ income tax form (if self-employed)
4. Can I apply for the Monash Equity Scholarship / Monash Pharmacy Equity Scholarship after commencing my course in Monash University Malaysia?
No. The Monash Equity Scholarship / Monash Pharmacy Equity Scholarship is only available new commencing students.
5. How do I apply for the Monash Equity Scholarship / Monash Pharmacy Equity Scholarship?

6. Do I need to enrol for the course before I can apply for the Monash Pharmacy Excellence Scholarship?
Yes, you will need to be an enrolled student of the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) program at Monash University Malaysia before applying for the Monash Pharmacy Excellence Scholarship.
7. How do I apply for the Monash Pharmacy Excellence scholarship?
You may put in your application via the following:-
a. Login to SORS - https://sors.monash.edu.my/ (you must have a Monash ID in order to log in)
OR
b. Download the form here and submit your completed form along with all required documents to mum.scholarships@monash.edu.
8. How do I apply for the Monash High Achiever Award (for continuing student)?
No application is required as eligible students will be nominated. To be eligible for nomination for the Monash High Achiever Award (for continuing student), you must meet the following criteria:
- Current undergraduate student of Monash University Malaysia who have completed 2 continuous semesters of study with 48 credit points.
- Have achieved average score of 80% and above from the 8 units completed.
- Fall within the top 1% of scorers in the school population.
- Enrolled with 24 credit points for the current semester.
- Not be in receipt of any scholarships / sponsorship from other bodies (not including PTPTN)
9. Who can apply for the Monash Sports Scholarship and what is the application process?
If you are a Malaysian national athlete and are not in receipt of any other scholarships whether offered to you by Monash University Malaysia or an external organisation, you can consider applying for the Monash Sports Scholarship. You may refer to the “Application Process” tab on how to submit your application.
10. How do I accept a scholarship that has been offered to me?
All students being offered a scholarship will receive a scholarship offer letter containing the details of their scholarship, including instructions on how to accept or decline a scholarship offer. If you do not complete the acceptance as instructed, your scholarship offer may be withdrawn and/or revoked.
11. What should I do if I have been offered more than one scholarship?
You must only accept one scholarship offer as you are not allowed to be in receipt of more than one scholarship at any given time.
12. Is the tuition fee waiver applied automatically every semester?
No, continuation of the scholarship award is subject to the maintenance of scholarship conditions specified in the scholarship terms and conditions.
13. If my semester average falls marginally below the required maintenance average, can I still maintain the scholarship?
No. To remain eligible for your scholarship each semester, the retention criteria outlined in your scholarship terms and conditions must be strictly adhered to.
14. How do I calculate the maintenance score to retain my scholarship?
The maintenance score to retain your scholarship is based on a simple average, rather than your Weighted Average Mark (WAM). To calculate your simple average, total up the marks of the previous semester’s 4 units / 4 (since 4 units are taken).
The standard full-time study load is 24 credit points and is a requirement to maintain your scholarship. Should you enrol less than 24 credit points, please consult with the Scholarship and Study Loans Office via AskMira.
15. If I meet the scholarship retention criteria, can I deduct the scholarship amount before making payment of the semester tuition fee?
If you meet the scholarship retention criteria, you may deduct the scholarship amount from your semester tuition fees. Where you are unsure whether you have met the scholarship retention criteria, you are advised to contact the Scholarship and Study Loans Office via AskMira.
16. What are the circumstances in which my scholarship may be terminated or withdrawn?
Your scholarship may be terminated or withdrawn if you:
- have discontinued from your course;
- fail to meet the retention criteria stated in the scholarship terms and conditions;
- have been suspended or excluded for misconduct under Monash statutes and regulations;
- were made an incorrect scholarship offer, as determined by Monash University Malaysia, in its sole discretion.
Your scholarship may be withdrawn at any stage if you provided incorrect, false or misleading information, or withheld relevant information. This includes circumstances where the false information is unrelated to the assessment in awarding the scholarship.
17. What are the consequences of the termination of my scholarship and if I meet the retention criteria again in the following semester, can my scholarship be reinstated?
If your scholarship is terminated, you will not receive any further payments. Scholarships that have been terminated will not be reinstated, even if you meet the retention criteria again in the following semester. In certain circumstances, you will be required to repay 50% of your scholarship.
18. Do I have to repay the scholarship that was disbursed to me?
Unless otherwise determined by Monash University Malaysia, you will be required to repay your scholarship under the following circumstances:
- the scholarship was disbursed to you in error or was of an amount exceeding your entitlement;
- you have withdrawn from your course of study or are no longer enrolled in the semester in which the scholarship was disbursed;
- you do not meet the conditions required to maintain the scholarship or have become ineligible for the scholarship (this includes situations where false information was provided to obtain the scholarship);
the scholarship was offered to you in error
19. How does the sibling discount work? If I am a recipient of a scholarship from Monash University Malaysia, can I still apply for a sibling discount?
If you have a sibling studying in Monash University Malaysia, the sibling paying the higher tuition fees will be eligible for a 10% discount off his/her semester tuition fees. All siblings must be enrolled concurrently in at least a standard (full-time) study load of 24 credit points in the semester in a full-fee paying course. A sibling enrolled in the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine, Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) and Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) course will be eligible to a maximum discount of RM5,000 per annum.
If you are a recipient of a scholarship from Monash University Malaysia, and your sibling is not a scholarship recipient, your sibling is eligible for the sibling discount.
