On the day of the results released, you will receive an email in your Monash account from the University. You must check your results for any units with a mark of 45 to 49 that meet the eligibility criteria above. If you meet the criteria for supplementary assessment(s), you must opt in to take the assessment(s) by clicking on ‘Opt in for supplementary assessments’ as shown here.
No, as the SFR was only available for the teaching periods between 2020 to 2021. For more information on the details, please refer here on teaching periods this applied, the grading and results update.
You can apply to view your final assessment here but please refer to the assessment remarking policy for more information on the eligibility and deadline.
During the semester, your lecturer may be receiving a large number of email inquiries and would appreciate if you could kindly allow them some time (at least 2-3 working days) to respond. If you still do not receive their response, please send a follow up email to them.

What is a hurdle, and what happens if I fail one?

A hurdle is an assessment requirement you have to meet to pass the unit, whatever your other marks add up to. Monash is phasing out threshold hurdles (a minimum mark on a task): no new unit may use one from 1 March 2025, and by 31 December 2026 no unit will. What remains are competency hurdles. If you complete and fail a competency hurdle you must be offered at least one additional assessment, due by the end of the teaching period; special consideration does not apply to it. If you still have not met the hurdle and your mark is 45 or more, your result is NH (Hurdle Fail) 45, and you will not be given a supplementary assessment for it. Your unit's hurdles and the number of attempts are listed in its Handbook entry and on Moodle.

Can I get a supplementary assessment?

All campuses

If you finish a unit with a mark of 45 to 49, a grade of N or NH, and your results show NS, you have already been given a supplementary assessment - there is nothing to apply for. Not every unit offers one; its Handbook entry says. It is optional and it is your last chance to pass the unit: pass it and your result becomes 50 (P), which is the most you can get; fail it or skip it and you keep your original mark. It is held on a set date within 90 days of results release, and special arrangements are the only way to move it. Retaking the unit instead can earn a higher mark for your WAM, but costs another enrolment.

What is WAM and how is it calculated?

WAM is your weighted average mark: the average of your unit marks weighted by each unit's credit points, and in most courses also by unit level. It uses marks, not grades, so it is more precise than GPA. Monash publishes the exact formula and which units are excluded on the official WAM page.
