Master of Philosophy (MPhil)

The Master of Philosophy is a master’s by research degree that requires you to formulate a research problem related to the discipline you are enrolled in, and conduct an independent investigation into the topic. As Monash emphasises research that contributes to people, planet and institutions, we encourage you to identify a research problem within one of these spheres. Our supervisory team will provide you with support all the way.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Our PhD program is a comprehensive blend of coursework for advanced research skills, accredited supervisory support and strategic engagement with experts who will work with and co-supervise your research journey. At the School of Business, graduate researchers have the opportunity to tackle research problems in five PhD disciplines: Accounting, Business Law and Taxation, Management, Marketing as well as Business and Economics (Economics, Finance, Econometrics and Business Statistics).

Areas of Research Supervision

Our areas of research supervision for the PhD program are varied and versatile, revolving around the School of Business’ three research clusters.
