BEW3110 Work Experience Program FAQ
About BEW3110 Work Experience Program
- Yes. The internship is a credit-bearing unit (BEW3110 – Work Experience Program) and contributes towards the completion of your bachelor’s degree.It may be completed either: ● as part of your optional capstone unit, or ● as an elective unit, depending on your course structure.Important: For students in the Accountancy major, this unit is not available as a capstone option but may be taken as an elective.
Eligibility
- You must: ● Be a Monash University Malaysia School of Business coursework student ● Achieve at least 72 credit points by the required timeline ● Meet all unit and course requirements
- Yes. International students may enrol provided they meet the course and unit requirements. However, internship opportunities in Malaysia can be competitive, so students are encouraged to apply early.Important: Students are not permitted to undertake internships after completion of their final semester.
Internship Timeline and Duration
- Students must strictly follow the official internship period approved by the School. Internships cannot: ● start earlier, or ● end later than the approved dates.
- Students must complete: ● a minimum of 40 working days ● full-time internship only ● excluding onboarding or training periods

Internship Search and Applications
- Students are strongly encouraged to begin preparing and applying early.

Internship Application Documents

WES Enrolment
- Students should refer to the official BEW3110 website and enrolment guide for timelines.

InPlace Registration

- The offer letter must: 1. be on official company letterhead 2. be written in English 3. contain all required details including: - student name - internship title - internship dates - company details - work arrangement - authorised signatory information
Internship Approval and Compliance
- No. Students must wait for official approval via InPlace.
- Students must inform companies in advance of the official BEW3110 internship period, including both the start and end dates. This ensures the company is aware of the student’s availability before issuing an offer. Internship start and end dates must strictly fall within the approved period, and any arrangement outside this period will not be approved.

Assessments and Moodle
