Study Plan

  • A study plan is a document listing all the units you will study at the host institution
  • The school will refer to the study plan to know what units you plan to study on exchange and assess for equivalency.
  • If you are studying for one semester, then you may submit ONE study plan. If you are studying for two semesters, you will need to submit TWO study plans.
  • Ensure that you are referring to the latest handbook year for the host institution.
  • Check that you meet the host institution units’ prerequisites and the matching MUM unit's prerequisites.
  • Check that the units you want to select are offered for exchange students.
  • Check that the units you want to select are Undergraduate level or Postgraduate level.
  • Ensure that the units you want are offered in the semester that you are going for exchange.

Study Plan Important Information

It is advisable for the student to submit the units as many as possible. The school will not entertain any request to change units, or assess additional units after the study plan has been approved unless under the following circumstances and must be supported with evidence (such as an email from the host universities):

  • Unit unavailability
  • Timetable clashing
  • Unit enrolment quota is full
  • Unit rejects by the host university
  • Please check your course map carefully and make sure there will be enough space for you to enroll in the exchange units to avoid any issues related to your course completion/graduation.
  • You must be enrolled for the equivalent of 18 - 24 credit points per semester. You will only transfer the credits for the units that have been approved by your School and pay tuition fees to Monash University Malaysia for the Monash equivalent units.

There will be a risk of delayed graduation if you go to a partner university exchange in your final semester due to a different academic calendar period and also there’s no guarantee that you will receive a transcript from the host institution earlier in order to graduate on time.
