  • Session for Summer A 2026/2027 will be held on 15 April 2026 (Wednesday) at 1pm in Seminar Room 4832
  • This briefing is compulsory for all students taking FST3800 this year
  • The School will provide you with a list of companies that Food Science students have previously interned with. They may or may not be accepting interns this year. You can use this list as a starting point but can explore organizations outside of this list.
  • Company list
  • Some companies will require you to submit a University supporting letter. If you need one, you can submit your request via the FST3800 Supporting Letter Request Form and the letter will be emailed to you within 5 working days.
  • Update: You only need to submit the form once and a generic supporting letter will be issued to you which can be used to apply to multiple companies. Please use the letter responsibly.
  • It is the student's responsibility to ensure the internship company and job scope is suitable for FST3800. If you are unsure, please email the unit coordinator directly. If the internship offer you received is unsuitable, you will not be allowed to enrol into FST3800 with the offer.
  • The request form will close on 23 October 2026. No further supporting letter requests will be accepted after this date.
  • Typhoid vaccination is compulsory for all FST3800 students.
  • You will have to make a visit to the clinic arranged by the school within a specific timeframe in August/September to complete the vaccination. If you miss the timeframe to take the vaccination, you will need to complete them at your own cost and show proof of vaccination before you are allowed to proceed with the internship.
  • You won’t be able to enrol into FST3800 via WES yourself. The School will manual enrol you once we confirm you have secured an internship.
  • Apply for enrolment by submitting your offer letter to the FST3800 Enrolment Form.
  • The form will be open from 6 July to 30 October. If you cannot secure an offer by 1st October, immediately email the Unit Coordinator.
  • Briefing session for Summer A 2026/2027 will be held on 26 October 2026 (Monday of SWOT VAC) at 10am in Seminar Room 4832.
  • This briefing is compulsory for all students taking FST3800 this year.
  • This is an induction quiz to be completed within the first week of the internship to familiarise yourself with some common expectation at work.
  • This is a short journal (one paragraph of no more than 300 words) to dictate the activities and experience gained during internship, written and submitted every two weeks.
  • This is a video presentation of no more than 8 min to reflect your internship experience. A detailed description of the assessment can be found in the Moodle page for FST3800.
  • This is an internship written report of no more than 8 pages to reflect your internship experience. A detailed description of the assessment can be found in Moodle page for FST3800
  1. This is an assessment done by an employer to assess your performance at the workplace. Employers will be required to fill up the Employer Assessment Form with a shared link using their work email.
