The Robotics and Industrial Automation research cluster seeks to develop solutions that enable industries to automate and achieve higher productivity. We aim at developing intelligent machines with cooperative distributed control to realize the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0).

The research interests of the cluster includes the:

(i) development of soft robots for efficient grasping

(ii) development of frameworks and architectures for connected factories

(iii) development of smart robotics devices for assisting people with disabilities

The research cluster has managed to attract research grants from:

(i) Government Agencies:

- Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (Ministry of Education, Malaysia)

- Collaborative Research in Engineering, Science and Technology (CREST)

(ii) Industry Partners: - MATAC

The research cluster is also actively involved in multi-disciplinary collaboration and projects, both internally and externally
