What diploma programs does Monash University offer at the Malaysia campus?

We offer two diploma programs in Malaysia: the Diploma of Business and the Diploma of Higher Education Studies. We also offer the Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY), which leads into our degrees, and Monash English for students who need to lift their English skills before starting. Each pathway suits students at a different stage of their studies.

How long does it take to complete the Diploma of Business at Monash Malaysia?

The Diploma of Business takes two years of full-time study. The Diploma of Higher Education Studies takes one year. Both programs have intakes in February, July and October, and you'll study at our campus in Sunway City, Selangor.

Which diploma course in Malaysia is right for me?

The right pathway depends on your previous studies and the degree you want to enter. The Diploma of Business provides a pathway towards business studies, while the Diploma of Higher Education Studies offers pathways into selected Monash degrees. Check the entry and progression requirements before choosing a pathway.

Can I continue to a degree after my diploma?

Yes. The Diploma of Business gives you direct entry into the second year of the Bachelor of Business and Commerce. The Diploma of Higher Education Studies prepares you for the second year of a range of degrees in arts and social sciences, business, IT and science. You'll need to meet the progression requirements for your chosen degree.

What is the difference between a foundation and a diploma?

A foundation program such as MUFY prepares you for direct entry into the first year of a degree. A diploma is a qualification in its own right. Eligible students may receive entry into the second year of selected Monash degrees, subject to progression requirements.

What do I need to apply for a diploma program?

Requirements differ by program. The Diploma of Business requires a credit in Mathematics. Prerequisites for the Diploma of Higher Education Studies depend on your stream. For example, the science stream needs science subjects and the IT stream needs Higher Mathematics. You'll also need to meet Monash's English requirements.
