We encourage all students to be vaccinated for vaccine-preventable infections – for details, see the National Immunisation Program Schedule and COVID-19 vaccines.

Placement requirements We encourage clinical placement students to arrange their vaccinations with us.
Flu vaccinations
We offer flu vaccinations to all new and existing patients. The vaccine is free for eligible patients listed in the National Immunisation Program and at a competitive price for others.
2026 flu vaccines are now available at our University Health Services (UHS) clinics for anyone who is 6 months or older.

Travel health
Our University Health Services offer comprehensive travel health consultations for the Monash community. Regardless of where you’re travelling to, we want to ensure you’re healthy and you enjoy your trip away. You should book an appointment as soon as you can, but at least six weeks before you leave:
- Book an appointment online (make sure you book a 30-minute travel health consultation) or call one of our clinics and request a long appointment. See medical appointments.
- Print and complete our University Health Services Travel Questionnaire, and bring it with you to your appointment.

Other vaccinations
If you fall into any of the following risk categories, you can make an appointment with a doctor on campus to discuss your vaccination options:
- people who grew up overseas
- those that missed out on vaccines as a child
- women who are pregnant or planning pregnancy
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people
- men who have sex with men
- people travelling or returning home overseas
- other at risk groups.
Vaccine information and resources
- National Immunisation Program (NIP) Find out what immunisations are offered at the different stages of your life, from birth through to adulthood. All vaccines listed in the NIP schedule are free for medicare card holders.
- Victorian Immunisation Schedule Some at risk groups may be eligible for other vaccines funded by the Victorian Government.
- Influenza (flu) immunisation Everyone aged 6 months and older is recommended to get vaccinated against the flu every year. Learn more about the flu and who should get vaccinated.
