Don’t wait – reach out

It’s important to stay mindful of your mental wellbeing and make sure you have the support you need.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, avoiding things that make you anxious or stressed, or withdrawing from family or friends – you might benefit from some extra support.

Seeking help early can make a big difference and help you manage your stress, build effective study habits and develop problem-solving strategies that work for you.

You can reach out to resources like our counselling services, academic support services, Disability Support Services, study groups and your teaching staff at any time.

We’re here for you, so don’t hesitate to ask for help!

If you need help

Get free and confidential counselling Our counsellors at the University Health Services can help you work through problems either in person or through Telehealth appointments.

Book a GP appointment You can book an appointment to see one of our doctors at our Caulfield, Clayton or Peninsula campuses. If you’re unwell at home, you can book a Telehealth appointment instead.

Book a consultation with a learning adviser If you need help with your assessments, academic English, or studying in general, book a consultation with one of our language and learning advisers.

Register with Disability Support Services (DSS) If you have a disability, medical or mental health condition that might affect your studies, try registering with DSS for support.

Seek advocacy and support For advice about special consideration and general student advocacy and support, get in touch with your student association.

  • Spend time with your friends Keep in touch with your peers, family and support network.
  • Take care of yourself Make sure you prioritise self-care activities, like sleeping and eating.
