Coursework re-enrolment

The University will email you during the second half of the year to remind you to re-enrol for the upcoming year - timely re-enrolment is normally during October-November.

If you are finishing your course this year, you will not be expected to re-enrol.

If you are applying for a course transfer for the upcoming year, you still need to re-enrol in your current degree - the course transfer process will not be finalised until after re-enrolment closes.

For more information on re-enrolment, late re-enrolment, fees and other key dates, take a look here.

There are some changes made to unit titles and required units in some courses for 2027 - please see the Course and unit changes section below for details and to make sure you are up to date.

How do I choose my units?

Why can't I enrol in some units in WES?

You may not be able to enrol in some units if:

  • You haven't met the enrolment rules, including passing the prerequisite or co-requisite for a unit.
  • The unit is prohibited with a unit you have already completed or are enrolled in.
  • The unit has a quota (limit) and is full, or may not be open to students to enrol themselves in WES. If the unit is not open in WES, you will need to check the enrolment rules and submit an enrolment request.

What if I don't re-enrol or intermit?

Avoid the late fee! If you miss the timely re-enrolment dates, you can re-enrol during the late enrolment period, however a late fee does apply.

If you fail to re-enrol or intermit after the late re-enrolment deadline, you will lose your place in your course and will be discontinued.

Electives and Summer/Winter units

If you need some help choosing elective units for next year, you can try our Electives webpage - please be aware that there may be changes to unit titles.

We also offer some units over the Summer and Winter semesters - take a look at our Summer and Winter webpage for details.

Course and unit changes impacting re-enrolment - 2024, 2025 and 2026

The Faculty periodically reviews and updates all of its course and unit offerings. This can lead to changes in course structures, as well as unit offerings and titles, which can have an impact on current students.

Units no longer offered should be replaced by the unit(s) listed in the table below. There can also be changes to core (compulsory) unit titles and these will be listed below.

From 2026, all Design elective units will use the DGN unit code. You can find all of the DGN units grouped together in the Handbook, under Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture units, and on the MADA Electives webpage.
