December graduations – Australia (limited eligibility)

December graduations are strictly in-person ceremonies at Clayton campus (graduating in absentia isn’t available).

Wait until you receive an email with your provisional ceremony date before you make travel arrangements for your guests.

Dates for 2026

Coursework students

In October, we'll provisionally allocate you to a ceremony until you're course completed. Please don't make travel arrangements for your guests until you receive an email with your provisional ceremony date.

If your faculty course completes you by the required date, we'll send an email confirming your ceremony date and time.

PhD and research master’s students

You'll receive an email about your application in early November.

Eligibility and deadlines for 2026

Eligibility

You’re eligible to graduate in this round if you’re:

• an international student with full course enrolment at an Australian campus, and your results will be released between 18 August and 3 December 2026 – check your results release date
• a domestic or international student completing the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine in semester two 2026.

You’re eligible to graduate in this round if you’re:

• an international PhD student, or
• an international master’s by research student enrolled at an Australian campus.

Last day to resolve any encumbrances. You'll need to have your award conferred by this date and meet all other eligibility requirements.

• The ceremony A daytime event held at Clayton campus where you'll celebrate your achievements with your family and friends. Ceremony attendance for this round costs AUD$264 and includes two guest tickets. Award certificates (testamurs) won't be presented on stage – they'll be available for collection after your ceremony.

Late graduation applications

We may accept a graduation application after the closing date. This is at the discretion of Graduation Services and depends on:

• whether there is availability in the round
• when your request is made – it might be too late for us to accommodate you, even if a place is available.

A non-refundable late application fee applies if your request is approved. You'll also need to pay the attendance fee if you're attending a ceremony.
