AMG5009 · Emerging media industries in Asia

Overview

In this unit, students draw on their exposure from the MCMS, where they learn about different facets of the media and creative industries, supported by industry exposure in this capstone unit. They draw on their own locations and use this as an opportunity to learn about and experience the emerging industries in the media and creative economy, allowing them to build networks in the industry they see themselves working in. They submit a project report at the end of the unit, reflecting their understanding of the emerging media industries.

Learning outcomes

1. Critically analyse and evaluate the emerging media industries in Asia;
2. Apply learning from units across the MCMS to their industry practicum;
3. Produce a professional industry-facing report and presentation.

Workload

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 288 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher directed learning, peer directed learning and online engagement.
