Overview

In this unit, you will examine case studies of gender-related issues in the workplace, drawing upon up-to-date research in sociology, organisational psychology, education, and cultural studies. You will develop a theoretically informed perspective for understanding topics that are relevant and increasingly attended to in the workplace, such as organisation dynamics, gender- and sexuality-based discrimination, and diversity and inclusion. Through within-semester assessments and continuous feedback, you will be equipped with the skills to conduct research on the workplace and productively address work-related problems.

  3. Utilise independent and collaborative learning and working skills in a corporate or activist environment;
  4. Communicate perceptively, effectively and with cultural sensitivity.

Workload

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher directed learning, peer directed learning and online engagement.
