Overview
In this unit, you will explore the principles and practice of creative communication in the digital age, with a focus on social media content creation. You will be guided through the complete content development lifecycle: from conceptualisation and ideation through to production and critical evaluation, equipping you with skills that are directly relevant to professional communication practice. After learning the background of communication and its important roles in media, you will create a portfolio. You will be taught the importance and the basics of how to create this tool in accordance with the demands of the media industry: website, or video compilation of projects and such. You will be exposed to the various ways in which to document yourselves, showcase your achievements and compile your work. These experiences bridge the gap between academic learning and workplace expectations, offering you direct exposure to current industry practices across digital platforms.

Learning outcomes
- examine how creative communication operates across digital and social media platforms;
- produce professional-standard social media content that meets real-world communication goals;
- conceptualise, construct and critically evaluate original content ideas through a structured creative development process;

- collaborate with peers to plan, create and pitch digital content in response to a defined brief;
- reflect on the creative process and development as a digital content practitioner to support continuous professional growth.
