Overview

In this unit you will put the theories learned across the Arts and Social Sciences into practice through the creation of a documentary film that examines various aspects of society. You will bring cross-disciplinary knowledge to bear in crafting a narrative that explores its subject matter in a nuanced and responsible manner. You will learn how to make your own film through all the stages of production, undertaking industry relevant assessments that are designed to develop different skills in demand in the digital workplace. The documentary film is uniquely positioned to interrogate society and the actors with varying levels of power within it. This Work Integrated Learning unit will stimulate you to examine society and investigate gaps that exclude the marginalized, the structural forces that shape society, and the art of engaging filmmaking for a broad audience.
