Overview

In this unit, you will explore a contemporary healthcare challenge in depth and apply bioethical concepts to develop hypothetical solutions to that challenge. Challenges change year by year, but will include issues such as genomic testing, end of life decision-making and preventing chronic or infectious disease.

  1. Demonstrate a clear understanding of bioethical concepts relevant to the challenge explored
  2. Critically evaluate current responses to these challenges in healthcare and policy, identify their weaknesses and propose improvements
  3. Use well-developed reasoning skills to contribute to ethical discussions of these challenges
  4. Use well-developed research and collaboration skills to formulate and evaluate possible responses to these challenges.
