Overview

This unit examines a number of interrelated themes dealing with the resolution of various types of complex policy problems. You will be assigned specific roles and participate in extended problem-based simulations. These theoretically grounded simulations require you to work strategically with classmates to resolve the issue according to role-specific objectives. You will explore a number of factors that may prevent or accelerate the escalation of such policy problems. To be effective, interdisciplinary student teams will have to work together to apply and integrate their disciplinary areas of expertise.
