This unit explores the principles and uses of computational workflows in architectural design and project delivery. Engaging with Building Information Modelling (BIM), Generative Systems, and Digital Fabrication, the unit introduces you to the possibilities and challenges of computational design when applied to collaborative work, information management and the development and communication of architectural ideas.

Learning outcomes
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of computational workflows including BIM, Generative Systems, and Digital Fabrication;
- Evaluate and apply computational workflows through design-based activities, examples, and precedents;
- Assess, select and integrate appropriate computational workflows to achieve desired communications outcomes aimed at all the stages of project delivery;
- Demonstrate skills for effective communication with the different stakeholders involved in project delivery;
- Understand the implications of computational workflows on the efficiency and sustainability of building design activities;
- Demonstrate skills for self-guided problem solving using open source learning material and online resources.
