Overview

This unit examines issues in architectural production. This unit covers architectural production in relation to a range of historical, theoretical, material and speculative domains addressing diverse social, cultural, technological, and communicative aspects of architecture. Investigations will incorporate various methodologies and points of view. The unit will develop analytical methods for understanding and contributing to the evolving built environment.

Learning outcomes

  1. Identify and describe diverse aspects of architectural production;
  2. Research and analyse architectural production and use knowledge to advance understanding of architecture;
  3. Locate architectural production in relation to a variety of relevant contexts with recognition of interconnections and influences shaping practices and approaches;
  4. Work in teams to effectively communicate, debate and advocate for developments in architectural production;
  5. Explore the development and implications of architectural production and the potentials to support change;
  6. Reflectively engage in lifelong learning about diverse aspects of architecture.
