This unit is about strategy in promoting and influencing public policy. You will learn about policy agenda-setting and policy networks activation in promoting or influencing public policy. The unit will cover the importance of agenda-setting and advocacy in public policy, political events and public opinion, advocacy goals and agenda building strategy, message development, communication channel and audience engagement strategy, policy network activation, and relationship management. The focus will be on understanding the advocacy strategy in which public policies are designed, promoted, and influenced.

- Discuss key challenges in public policy advocacy and policy network activation
- Evaluate agenda-setting strategies in the public policymaking process
- Analyse public opinion on selected policy
- Implement message framing in advocating selected policy
- Create a policy advocacy plan.
